-How did it all begin to launch your own line? and what is the meaning behind "giejo?"

The idea to create a swimsuit came about really as something that was initially just for me. I was looking to purchase a new swimsuit for my upcoming vacation to St. Thomas with my girlfriends to celebrate my birthday.

When I was younger, my mom called me giejo. I really attribute my sense of style to my mom and in a way named the collection in honor of her.  

[gee-jo] interchangeable and multi-functional swim separates featuring versatile prints and figure-flattering silhouettes that can be mixed and matched for a unique look.

 

 

컬렉션을 런칭하게 된 계기와 이름의 뜻이 담겨있나요?

 

자연스럽게 수영복을 만들게 된 것 같아요.

제 생일을 친구들과 축하하기 위해 여행을 계획하던 중 새 수영복을 사야되겠다는 아이디어에서 창조하게 되었어요.

어릴적 엄마가 저를 giejo라고 불렀어요.

엄마의 스타일을 물려받은 점, 이 컬렉션은 엄마를 위해 만든 것이나 다름없습니다.

giejo를 설명하자면 우리는 다양한 기능과 서로 다른 상하의 들의 조화가 가능한

프린트들과 몸의 각선미를 살려주는 그런 믹스매치, 유니크한 스윔웨어라고 설명하겠어요.

 

 

-If you were to describe giejo women in 3 words, then what would they be? 

Unique, confident, inspiring

-living right next to the beach, I got interested in your collection right away.

Women worry too much wearing swimwear considering their body shapes and all.

What is your recommendation to pick the perfect swimwear? 

Try not to think too hard about it and go what whatever makes you feel good.  Remember to play on your assets through attention-drawing prints, texture or silhouette.
