Interview with Pray for Paris

original post can be found at: http://firstlook_b.blog.me/90140162556

Looking at your items makes me feel like going through fashion files at the moment.
They're such fun designs! How did you begin launching Pray for Paris?

Pray for Paris began 6 months ago.
I started it by designing a few t-shirts and then getting them printed
and my friends really liked them so I designed more and it grew from there.

To captivate an audience, what kind of marketing strategy did you use?

Blog is our main source of marketing.
We work with a lot of very famous bloggers in return for them showing off our products.

How do you stay truly unique? Do you push yourself to get inspired and gets
to work all the time?

I just let inspiration come naturally, I don't set deadlines for myself.
If I get 4 ideas in one week, I might get a single one in 3 months after that.

A t-shirt can be worn in so many ways. But I think you'll have a favorite way to wear a tee with?

I love wearing my t-shirts with a fitted blazer and a pair of jeans.

What's your number one passion in life?

My number one passion in life is to expand my fashion brand and to grow
and fluorish into more sectors of the industry.

Interview with Compania Fantastica

totally love this polkadot trouser
I could wear it to school, shopping with friends, movies everywhere!

this time I did an interview with amazing Compania Fantastica team,
for original post check out here: http://firstlook_b.blog.me/90139391827

How did the compania fantastica born? It must have been a very hard work
and lots of efforts, time put into it.

Companiafantastica was born 3 years ago. It was Mini and Jaime (brother and sister)
who started the offer in terms of fashion that Madrid had was weak and many people could not
find cool alternatives to dress up.
We wanted to display cool urban fashion but at what we called it really affordable prices.
Later press refer to us as "Chic and Cheap" we definitely have shown that fashion is not a luxury.
Nowadays, Compania Fantastica is being sold in more than 20 countries from
Japan to USA, Holland, Germany, Italy , France, Portugal...etc.

The chicest part of the brand would be?

The naive and retro touch of all our designs and the versatility of them which makes you can wear
them either to go to work with flats and simple accessories or with heels and more
special complements to go out at night.
Always cool.

So you said that the collection is very price-efficient, right?

This is one of our main objectives and I am sure one of our strong points.
We make fashion stylish but simple and proof of it is that
Compania Fantastica has spread in the last 2 years and now more than
250 shops are carrying our brand!

If one wants to travel for this spring break, what three pieces would you recommend?

Kill All Artists T-Shirt with Dotty Trousers (casual outfit),
Three Tone Dress (daily outfit),
& Romantic Dress (night outfit)

Compania Fantastica surely seems to have a ton of chic options.
Last message to readers?

Make it cool but make it simple.
Stylish borns inside!!!

interview with Sete Di Jaipur

original post for 1stlook: http://firstlook_b.blog.me/90139298078

Your brand features luxurious look. What image does your brand portray?

We have developed a smooth image of refined prints and embroideries, using colors
as our peculiar skill. Sensations of faraway lands and sophisticated charm in order to stress
femininity, combined with natural precious fabrics.

The lookbooks were so exotic and exquisite. How does it proceed to style it up?

The lookbook represent our actual communication message, that is expressed in the beginning by
the collection. We are NOT importers of Eastern items, but we are an Italian company which styling
pool turns other countries' visual icons into an Italian collection.
The lookbooks are shot in Turin, choosing ancient royal palaces or eclectic
furnished flats so to underline our Italian and Turin appartenance.

If one is looking for never-take-off-accessory, what would you recommend?

Embroidered silk/pashmina stole in winter,
printed + embroided silk haboutai scarf in spring.

What are some color choices often used for Sete Di Jaipur?

Bright colors are preferred ones.
Green, red, yellow, fuchsia are always used in every collection.

Can you give us any styling tips as a fashion teacher?

Easy and soft clothes in natural fibers are always giving psychogical & physical comfort.
Mix fancy items as tops or kurtas together with plain color pants and dust coat.
Never forget a scarf as a crown for the face, to underline your personal touch.

interview with Barbara Campbell

How do you create accessible collection?

My collections are usually inspired by the environment around me.
I started in the mountains of Vermont, lush and green, and then the beaches of Montauk,
wide open sands, beautiful stones and crashing waves.
I am also inspired by New York City neighborhoods, DUMBO in Brooklyn,
Soho in Manhattan. Soho inspired my black and gold glam collection.

Any layering advice in jewelry?

This year's trend is all about layering.
I love to layer necklaces and bracelets. I love to see a woman in layered bracelets.
My Black and Gold collection has many pieces that are meant to be layered.

Favorite color for Barbara Campbell NYC would be:

Black and monotone colors.

What type of women are BC women?
I can imagine already the bold beauty looks!

BC women set trends, they don't follow them.
They are bright, vivacious and bold. They are contemporary and many are fashionistas.
They are financially conscious, they seek quality and value.
They are diverse in age and race, and they are cosmopolitan.
She is confident; she likes to make a fashion statement.

new interview post for 1stlook magazine is uploaded at
this time it's for Cavortress
I introduced you to the brand before in this blog
but check out these lookbook photos & the interview
to get the spring, summery vibe!

이번 인터뷰는 봄여름 분위기 물씬 풍기는
리조트 스윔웨어 Cavortress 입니다.
위에 링크로 한글기사 확인해주세요 ^^

Please introduce us some S/S 12 pieces.
What kind of image do they portray?

The Swim 2012 Collection was called the "Great American Vacation."
I grew up in Upstate New York and vacationed in Florida pretty much every year for Spring Break,
then spent summers in the 1000 islands and on the Great Lakes
(very much like where the movie 'Dirty Dancing' was filmed.)
Northerners are pretty pale from being indoors all winter and I always looked forward to
shopping for a bright and cheerful swimsuit to wear on vacation and disguise my lack of tan.
I have a background in graphic design and decided to design my own prints for our line.
We also love the pleated caftan in royal blue because it can be worn year round
if weather permits as a dress or tunic, dressed up or down.
It can even work on someone who is pregnant!
Our pieces can be worn appropriately at a high end resort, a country club,
supermarket, or out on the town.

To get a great design turnouts, what do you do?

I think first about my clients, then stay true to my aesthetic.
It is important for me to be involved in the entire process including the design of the patterns for the
swimwear, the prints for the fabric, the labels for the garments, handtags for the garments,
casting of the models, art direction for the photoshoot, design of the lookbook, website,
online shop, etc. A great design is supported by effective marketing and branding.
I never design something I wouldn't wear myself.

Styling is definitely important. Do you collaborate with other brands in accessories?
How do you add that extra touch?

I love styling the looks that appear in our online shop and in our lookbook that buyers
see before the product goes out to stores. Aside from designing the prints,
this is my favorite part of the process. Lumete Eyewear is a company that I frequently
collaborate with for their fabulous sunglasses. Their design aesthetic has a vintage and American
feel to it like our brand. I am also a fan of Stuart Weitzman and YSL summer shoes that
are consistently incospicuous, yet classy and look well with a swimsuit.
Bob Ellis is a shoe store here in Charleston that we collaborate with on shoes.
Cavortress believes that it is important to complete an entire look
for your swimsuit.

Perfect destination to wear Cavortress would be:

Vegas, baby!
The sun shines there every day!
There is no other place better for 'fun in the sun' which is the motto for our swimwear line.

What key things should the readers find when looking for their perfect summer wear?

When looking for perfect summer wear, one should consider the ease for wearing the item
of clothing and what they will be doing in it. Our swimwear one piece suits translate nicely with
a skirt or a pair of shorts over top of them, looking somewhat like tube tops or tank tops.
Our coverups also translate well to clothing and can be styled for a night on the town with
heels and jewelry yet provide enough protection from the sun and fit easily over a swimsuit.
If you are out on a boat, or sitting poolside, you might just have to hop to the
next event without a wardrobe change. Summerwear should be easy and
pool-ready!

Your pieces are such glamorous swimwear. Few tips for us to enjoy summer?

We love summer and we don't believe in hiding during swimsuit season!

interview with Natalie Suarez for Volcom

if you love natalieoffduty.blogspot.com
then you'll love the new Fall & Holiday '12 pieces she collaborated with Volcom too!
This time for 1stlook mag's blog, I did an interview with Natalie
to talk a bit about her collaboration process,
the Volcom girls' image, and some tips. Enjoy! :)

모델겸블로거인 나탈리가 볼컴과의
콜라보레이션을 진행했어요
자세한 인터뷰 내용은 위에 링크로 들어가셔서
읽어주세요 ^^

How did you meet with Volcom first?

I first met with Volcom when I went into their casting for their spring '11 campaign.
I booked it shortly after and was so excited!
After shooting with them, we all really connected and became close.
I've been shooting their campaigns from then on.
Later, Volcom asked me to be their ambassador/model
and of course, I said yes!
It was an amazing opportunity and my relationship with the brand
was super organic and natural.
I think that is why we work so well together and that our collabs have been so successful.
They're the dream team to work with and also one of the very first brands
to recognize me more than just a "model" and I love that.
I still cannot believe that I am now designing my own collection for Fall '12 and Holiday '12!

I'm also from California and can totally feel the "LA outfit" in Volcom pieces.
What do you think is the Volcom girls' image in your opinion?

The Volcom girl, to me, is a tough girl, but she's sweet and
still like to feel beautiful. Her style is playful, but she has an edge to her.
She's rebellious, fearless, and strong.
The Volcom Girl is as cool as they come.
And yes, being a California native, our styles are very relaxed,
with mixes of rock n' roll and the boho vibe of the beach.

photographer is Dylana Suarez from colormenana.blogspot.com

Love the fact that your collaborated pieces show vegan products.
How did you come up with the eco-conscious works?

Well, I wanted my collection to be something that all girls can wear,
and that is also safe and eco-friendly. We worked with fabrics that though they're not
genuine leather, are still such superb quality.
It has the same leather look, but used with materials that are much more friendly
on the environment. Volcom has always been a brand that's really conscious
of the environment and this is just another way to help promote that.

Recently I read that your sister shot the photos for your campaign?
Must be so fun. When two of you meet I'm sure the creativity flows.
Do you two do the styling yourselves for Volcom?

Getting to work with my sister on shooting the campaigns is such a dream.
She's such a talented photographer and I feel most comfortable
and the most like myself in front of the camera when I'm working with her.
And yes, I feel like when we're together, we get really creative and experimental.
She helps create magic! Yes, we both styled the lookbook and campaign shots.
We both have very different styles, but together, I think
we really nail the Volcom look which is a bit rock n roll, edgy, yet so effortless.

Lastly, tips for the readers on how to stay always so stylish?

I get dressed everyday to feel good about myself.
I think confidence is the most important thing.
When you feel great, you're unstoppable.

Please introduce us some spring basics from your collection.

We launched 3 new colors for SS12
babe, so pretty, and stoked.
In addition to these colors some of the polishes already existing in our collection
is also great for spring. I like
'so cute', 'sugarkiss', 'honey fox', 'stoned' as well.

Do you get any inspiration from the styling at the fashion brand/collection?

My main source of inspiration for Sheswai always comes from the
easy laid-back lifestyle of California. Golden sunshine,
flowers in the hair, nature...and the glamorous fun
in dressing up!

If one wants to try more sophisticated version
what kind of nail do's would you recommend?

An always sophisticated style for the nails is just keeping them natural
and well groomed. You can paint your nails any colors
as long as they are kept clean, healthy, and natural.

how often is recommended for us to change nail colors?

It's fun to paint our nails and express ourselves with color.
I believe that our nails are wonderful accessories.
I think you can change nail color as often as you'd like.

Is there a specific way for your brand to make rich colors?

We try on several shades of a color that we're creating to test for opacity, coverage,
and richness of color. The best one wins!

your collection looks playfully chic!
Thank you so much for your time for this interview.

Peace, love, and glamour is universal.
Have fun, smile, and feel free!
