this time it's for Cavortress
I introduced you to the brand before in this blog
but check out these lookbook photos & the interview
to get the spring, summery vibe!

이번 인터뷰는 봄여름 분위기 물씬 풍기는
리조트 스윔웨어 Cavortress 입니다.

Please introduce us some S/S 12 pieces.
What kind of image do they portray?

The Swim 2012 Collection was called the "Great American Vacation."
I grew up in Upstate New York and vacationed in Florida pretty much every year for Spring Break,
then spent summers in the 1000 islands and on the Great Lakes
(very much like where the movie 'Dirty Dancing' was filmed.)
Northerners are pretty pale from being indoors all winter and I always looked forward to
shopping for a bright and cheerful swimsuit to wear on vacation and disguise my lack of tan.
I have a background in graphic design and decided to design my own prints for our line.
We also love the pleated caftan in royal blue because it can be worn year round
if weather permits as a dress or tunic, dressed up or down.
It can even work on someone who is pregnant!
Our pieces can be worn appropriately at a high end resort, a country club,
supermarket, or out on the town.

To get a great design turnouts, what do you do?

I think first about my clients, then stay true to my aesthetic.
It is important for me to be involved in the entire process including the design of the patterns for the
swimwear, the prints for the fabric, the labels for the garments, handtags for the garments,
casting of the models, art direction for the photoshoot, design of the lookbook, website,
online shop, etc. A great design is supported by effective marketing and branding.
I never design something I wouldn't wear myself.

Styling is definitely important. Do you collaborate with other brands in accessories?
How do you add that extra touch?

I love styling the looks that appear in our online shop and in our lookbook that buyers
see before the product goes out to stores. Aside from designing the prints,
this is my favorite part of the process. Lumete Eyewear is a company that I frequently
collaborate with for their fabulous sunglasses. Their design aesthetic has a vintage and American
feel to it like our brand. I am also a fan of Stuart Weitzman and YSL summer shoes that
are consistently incospicuous, yet classy and look well with a swimsuit.
Bob Ellis is a shoe store here in Charleston that we collaborate with on shoes.
Cavortress believes that it is important to complete an entire look
for your swimsuit.

Perfect destination to wear Cavortress would be:

Vegas, baby!
The sun shines there every day!
There is no other place better for 'fun in the sun' which is the motto for our swimwear line.

What key things should the readers find when looking for their perfect summer wear?

When looking for perfect summer wear, one should consider the ease for wearing the item
of clothing and what they will be doing in it. Our swimwear one piece suits translate nicely with
a skirt or a pair of shorts over top of them, looking somewhat like tube tops or tank tops.
Our coverups also translate well to clothing and can be styled for a night on the town with
heels and jewelry yet provide enough protection from the sun and fit easily over a swimsuit.
If you are out on a boat, or sitting poolside, you might just have to hop to the
next event without a wardrobe change. Summerwear should be easy and

Your pieces are such glamorous swimwear. Few tips for us to enjoy summer?

We love summer and we don't believe in hiding during swimsuit season!
