going into fashion?
Graduated from the
University Of Texas in San Antonio with a degree in public
relations.

-Any interesting or fun details/stories about your
background that you don't mind sharing?
I am Iranian. I have a
brother who is one year older than me, we are polar opposites.
(저는 이란 사람이고, 1살 많은 오빠가 있는데 저와는 정말 성격이 다르답니다.)
-How do you describe your personal style?
Retro Bohemian- it
really depends on my mood, some days I’m color crazy!
(스타일은 그날 기분에 따라 틀리지만 복고적이고 보헤미안 적인 스타일을 즐긴다고 할 수 있어요.

-Who are your favorite designers?
Emilio Pucci and
Missoni. Colors and patterns are brilliant, and so alive.

-Why did you go into the fashion
industry?
I always was cutting
up necklaces and pieces I had to create something unique. I wanted to create
affordable, on trend accessories for fashionista’s on a budget.
(패션계에 일하게 된 계기는 저는 항상 목걸이나 다른 악세사리들을 자르고 새로운 유니크한 피스를 만들길 좋아했어요. 그러다보니 패셔니스타들이 트렌디하지만 합리적인 가격대의 악세사리를 구매할수 있게 만들고 싶다는 생각을 했어요)
-Tell me about the evolution of your company//how &
when did your biz come about?
After I graduated, I
went to Iran with my parents (we have a home there), we took a trip to India and
I had brought back some stones and took them to the jeweler in Iran… for days I
was sitting with him explaining what I wanted him to do with them, finally I
went behind his counters and used his tools to make my visions come to life..
this was the beginning of it all! That was 4 years ago, now we are in over 50
stores worldwide.
(회사를 차리게 된 스토리를 하자면, 졸업 후 부모님과 이란을 갔어요 - 집이 그곳에도 있거든요- 그 후 인도에 여행을 가서 스톤들을 가져오고 이란에 보석상에게 갔어요. 며칠동안 그 보석세공인과 제가 원하는 것을 설명하며 결국 제가 상상한 것들이 탄생하게 되었어요. 이 계기가 4년 전이었는데 이제 제 라인은 세계적으로 50여개의 가게에 입점해있답니다.)
-What is the extent of your line—how many items//what
types of items//price range//how do you describe your collection to a
stranger?
Huge selection. Lots
of evil eye items, and hamsa hands. Affordable jewelry is my main focus. I try
to create products that I would want at a more desirable price. Jewelry ranges
from $4.50-$115.00. Our median is $12.50.

-Where do you sell//best retailer in
Houston?
My favorite retailer
in Houston is the Auxilary Gift Shops at the Texas Children’s Hospital! They are
my favorite because all of the proceeds from the bracelets that are sold there
are donated for pediatric cancer research. My favorite retailer we work with it
Bloomingdale’s in Dubai.
(휴스턴에서 제가 제일 좋아하는 기프트 숍이 Auxilary라는 텍사스 어린이 병원에 위치한 가게가 있어요. 제가 제일 좋아하는 이유는 팔찌들의 이익으로 소아과의 암 연구소에 기부되기 때문이에요.
제 라인이 들어간 숍중 제일 좋아하는 곳은 두바이에 있는 블루밍데일 백화점입니다.)
-Describe your design aesthetic. (What sets your designs
apart? Who/what inspires you?)
Lots of evil eye and
karma pieces, I am inspired by love of art, culture, travels, and music, all of
which are reflected in my designs. My collections are refined with influence and
inspiration from travel. Giving back inspires me the most.

-Explain the philanthropy component of your
biz.
Currently involved with over a
dozen charities and organizations to raise awareness for common issues.
People Water is a
project I am passionate about right now. We have teamed up to bring clean water
to communities in need, People Water is a company that for every bottle of water
you buy, they provide and equal amount of water to a community in need, by
building wells.
Hands For Africa is
another project that is one of my favorites. Hands for Africa was borne out of
the aftermath of the Blood Diamond industry in Sierra Leone. They support the
hundreds of thousands of children, women and men who have been maimed by
machetes or explosive devices. These are individuals who have lost not only
their limbs, but oftentimes their livelihoods as farmers or vendors. With the
loss of a dignified way to earn a living, often comes a loss of all
hope.
Mother Miracle is our
newest charity partner.
(with Mother
Miracle school in Rishikesh, India to provide uniforms for the students.) In
Rishikesh, children are not allowed to go to school without a uniform and this
is a barrier that prevents many children fulfilling their potential through
education. Every scarf purchased provides one school uniform.

-Why is this cause close to your heart?
I hope that one day I
am able to change the way people understand the role their business has to
positively impact our world.
