New In: Huiles & Baumes and Revengeis...

I'm not sick anymore
thanks to all the teas and warm food I consumed up all week :)
my voice still sounds like I'm half-awake
but I feel so much better now

at Starbucks ordered up some scone and other bread to try with my
soy latte (with a vanilla syrup)

somehow the photo is uploaded upside down
you know I missed the Urban Space meeting with other bloggers
but thanks to Tara Taehee Kim (big big thanks!)
I got my hands on these wonderful products from Huiles & Baumes

Yes they carry organic lines too (of course)
and is located near the Alps called Annecy Lake
so you see they are trying to preserve the environment in its beauty

I know many of you have pets or send love to animals
Huiles & Baumes don't test their products on the animals before they produce them out massively
they don't use the artificial scent or pigment in this line

As soon as I saw the design of the package and the smell and all
I could feel their message on my hands very well
hope you too can feel the natural healthy environment they want to keep for all of us

face mask (go click the link if you want to take a look at the description,
price and to see where it sells)

50mL 41,000 Korean won

once or twice a week apply this masque all over your face for about 10-20 minutes
and rinse it off
this is a white creamy textured clay mask
great for deep cleansing

I used it right away when I received the package (last night) and it had a cooling effect
but unlike other products that make your face feel too burning cool?
(does that make sense?) or strong minty smell,
this product was "cool" as in cool that when you move around,
you can feel like as if your skin is breathing lightly in a cold atmosphere?
anyways all I can say is that this product feels so heavenly good!
pleasant feel I can say!

light-weighted, and it sounds great for those of you who have sensitive skin
like my mom and I do
definitely want to use it twice a week to make my face feel that it is protected
and being cared always :)

Intense Cream 24h/24 for face (linked to the official page)

40mL 92,000 Korean won
apply 2-3 pumps in the morning and night at the very last stage
(basically it's a cream)
apply it to your face and neck lightly and pat few times to make them absorbed in

it says it's great for 24 hours moisturized
this sounds like a great anti-aging & moisturizing cream for all

will tell you more about the product when I use them later!

300mL 29,000 Korean won

this can be used to babies, kids all
this is that much light, smooth and healthy for everyone
can be used all over your face and body

smells shea butter (the first thing I noticed about the package was the smell coming from when I opened up the box! such a soothing effect)

talking about organic,in previous post I also showed you sneak peeks at
my revengeis tshirts
I wore women's mushroom slouch tee in small (teal color) $49
go follow the link!

bag Gucci
foxchain gifted
Bulgari sunglasses
Accessorize earrings
Qua jacket
jeggings from streetbrand]

loved how it was pretty long so worn with jeggings/leggings and it looked appropriate

the cotton feels so smooth and it feels so great to use organic cosmetic brands &
organic made tees as if I'm being a part of helping out the environment a little

Revengeis... wants to inform their customers about how to live healthy long life
basically they want us to consume vegetables more in our daily life
as they hold nutiritional values
and I heard 5% of the net sales go into organizations working to save
endangered animals/species and/or other charities
this is an eco-friendly brand designed and made in the United States
the motto they keep to themselves is
to "make activism fashionable"

Don't you love the cute designs in such soft & silky fabric
that makes you feel great and makes happy environment for all of us?
if you want to be a part of green lover,
please help out by going "organic"
you can do it in so many ways

just like applying organic makeups, and wearing organic cotton made clothing
from brands you love! :)

happy weekend everyone!

interview with Anna-Karin Karlsson

If you remember from this recent post
you saw beautiful collection photos of AKK
here are three more I saved until I was ready to show you
mini interview w/ Anna-Karin Karlsson :)
her sunglasses are as you can tell very unique & uncommon
if you like to look different from all-dressed-the-same crowds,
these are one of the great options you can take
enjoy reading!

alice goes to cannes black leo

1. My readers already know that I have a huge affection for sunglasses.
Your sunglasses are so stunning and I love how each and every look portrays different style.
Where do you mostly get inspirations from in terms of design?
Do you sometimes get inspired by the songs you listen to?

Firstly, Thank You! I get inspirations from creating stories and events in my head. I visualize all frames before I draw them.

As I write music, I do get inspired by music my own and others. Words as well as notes.

2. I see lots of leopard in your collection. Is that one of your favorite pattern and color to use? Any other favorite colors/patterns?

During all my years as an eyewear stylist/buyer I never found great leopard pattern eyewear and I always said to myself...one day...and voila.

I use a unique patented HD plastic that I have searched for after seeing it on a photograph a few years ago. I searched high and low and now I have created my dream, I am well stubborn :-).

I like alot of colours and patterns but will only know if it's right for me when I have it in my hand. I tend to stay away from brown since it's too easy. I have no one to answer too as most brands do and will only create what I think is brilliant.

3. What are three essential items every girl should have in her closet?

I'm an accessory kind of girl so I would say decent sunglasses, shoes and bag but recon a pair of knickers and a dress could be handy too. Lol.

4. Do you have any countries/cities you would like to visit?

I used to fly every week for a year, that did put me off flying for a while but now I would love to travel through most of the world.

Hong Kong and NewYork will be next I recon.

when trouble came to town

5. Do you work on collaboration with other models, celebrities and or brands? Do you have any muses you would like to work with in a nearby project?

I have been asked to work with some major brands/fashion houses but we'll see what happens.
I'm very sure what I want to create and wouldn't do it for anything else but to create magic. What is great for my CV isn't always great for my mind.
Skye Edwards and Grace Jones wears my creations and soon some other celebrities but lets wait until we see them in the press before I speak.

6. How does your day start typically? I start with strong cup of coffee and to check my scheduler to see on and offline duties for instance.

I get up early to get my 5 year old son ready and then do the school run. When the weather allows I try to take an hour long walk to prepare for the day and get me focused. I think the best while walking. English Breakfast tea is my thing after spending most of my adult life in London. AM is usally spent writing and replying emails.

7. What do you think about fashion blogs gaining more attention each and every day? Some say they are part of the fashion industry,
while some argue back that they are just part of new online/social groups.

I've been very stuck in my life and have not paid a lot of attention to blogs until starting my business last year.

What I do enjoy is the openess and welcoming I've received from the bloggers and the fashion industry. I'm opened for change and if someone is happy doing what they want it's great.

special thanks and

interview with Lumete

I always invest on great quality products
in shoes, sunglasses, bags and outerwears (jackets, coats, etc.)
because that quality can't be replaced exactly in that
depth of time and effort put in like making an individual art piece
especially if it's a handmade product

I interviewed Clara Herrera, creative director, designer & founder of Lumete (the other founder is her friend Barbara Warren)

hope you'll enjoy this interview and beautiful collections from http://www.lumete.com/
I've picked personal 7 favorite looks!
and I want nothing more than for you to learn from this post
that eye protection is the first key to consider when you purchase sunglasses

and then after choosing the right brand and store,
pick your design in terms of color, shape and sizes etc.

1. How was the trade show at the SXSW festival? I've never been to Austin. Seems like such a great event I've missed!

Style X was awesome, and we had a blast in sunny Austin. We feel that Style X is the first showcase to truly merge music, indie culture and style in a single event, and we are extremely honored to have been a part of it. We connected with other amazing emerging brands, heard great music and met wonderful people from all over the world.

Style X is revolutionary in that it looks at how music and independent artistic expression is shaping Style, and it takes Style directly to the people. We also strongly respond to the core philosophy of the event. Founder Joah Spearman decided to call the event Style X, rather than Fashion X because there is an important differentiation to be made: while “Fashion” deals in trends and tortured schedules, “Style” is about expressing and differentiating oneself, creating a lasting individuality rather than simply following trends. In terms of our brand we strongly believe in this concept. We see sunglasses as a vital item in a women’s wardrobe and an important way to express her individuality. We create pieces that are unique and bold yet sophisticated and timeless.

Style X is a great way for everyone to have the chance to see the work created by exciting new brands as well as shop on the spot for the pieces they like.

2. What does your typical day look like?

As a small, emerging company, every day is different. We are handling everything ourselves… from design and development, to sales, graphic design, logistics, PR, accounting, or planning for shows such as Style X. So we’re always working, which can be difficult, but always interesting and very rewarding.

3. Do you do collaborations with others? Do you have any muses or people/brands you want to collaborate with some day?

Being one of the few independent eyewear brands on the market we feel much affinity and respect for other indie brands out there. We are shying away from actual product design collaborations as we are focused on establishing the Lumete brand and vision; however, we have been very open to other creative relationships, such as photoshoot or runway styling. For example, we recently provided sunglasses to summerwear line Cavortress, another emerging brand that showed at Style X. We have also connected with many creative people such as musicians and bloggers, as we love to create relationships with like-minded women who share our aesthetic sensibility.

4. Any countries/cities you want to visit?

All of them! Barbara and I love to travel and have been to many places, but there are still too many places left to name.

Barbara is lucky enough to have visited Seoul and loved it, but I have not yet been to Korea. I hope to visit one day soon! As far as Lumete, we are really hoping to expand internationally – we have shipped lumete.com orders to countries all over the world, but we are still working on finding more boutiques to work with us.

5. Any song of inspiration at the moment?

At this very moment we’re in a really mellow mood musically. We’re currently enamored with a couple of bands that played at SXSW. We’ve been listening to Rain Phoenix’s Band Papercranes and their new album “Let’s Make Babies In the Woods”. Another band we became obsessed with is Eisley, they are an amazing band from Tyler Texas and we can’t get enough of their lovely tunes. Their new album “The Valley” is beautiful!

6. I personally can't live without sunglasses and that's why I've wanted to do an interview with you. For me I love the fact that the sunglasses give you an edgier look.
What do you think is the best feature about the sunglasses? Any recommendation for us to find that perfect pair?

Definitely, sunglasses are that accessory that immediately adds the coolness factor to your look. However, the best and most important feature of sunglasses is the protection (from the damaging rays of the sun) they provide for your eyes and the delicate eye area. Isn’t it wonderful that an item which is so necessary and practical also becomes the ultimate fashion accessory? This is why we love making sunglasses. To us they are a magical object: the perfect fusion of science, art and functionality.

It is important to understand that sunglasses are indispensable for eye health and even to keep wrinkles at bay, which is why it is crucial to buy a high-quality pair made of high-grade materials with quality lenses. To learn about what makes a good pair of sunglasses watch our video, [ http://www.youtube.com/LumeteSunglasses#p/a/u/1/D7UyD18nVSw ] where my partner Barbara explains in detail the difference between the high and low quality frames and lenses and what to look for when shopping for sunglasses.

We hear from a lot of women that they’re afraid of investing in a quality pair of sunnies because they worry about losing or breaking them, which is why Lumete sunglasses come with a set of custom-designed accessories to help you care for and treasure your sunglasses. Our aim is to inspire women to invest in quality and take care of their sunglasses, so that instead of buying cheap pairs (that are usually uncomfortable and get easily damaged) and replacing them often, they invest in beautiful quality pairs, treasure them and start building their dream sunglasses collection so they’ll have great options for every occasion, mood and outfit.

7. And lastly, what do you think about fashion blogs becoming a part of the fashion industry, or like some say creating a whole new fashion world?

With social media and fashion bloggers like you, the fashion world is becoming a much more open, democratic and interesting place, where people can discover new brands and experience many different points of view rather than following the dictates of just a handful of print publications which tend to focus primarily on giant established fashion house brands. We are seeing the immense influence that independent fashion blogs are having on the fashion industry and we are thrilled to have launched Lumete in a time where this new and exciting digital fashion world is emerging and taking the industry by storm.

today's look: in GoJane

how do you love my leopard print wedge bootie? :)
it's 4.25 inches high (according to the web description)
which is 10.795 or rounded to 11 cm however you prefer the conversion
leopard was so hot since last fall and winter and I don't regret to follow that trend even now in 2011

the color appeared exactly the same as i've first seen from gojane.com
(here it looks lighter because of the setting)
and that's really an important part of online shopping
to get the right color from the screen so the shoppers get the expected result

I was at the department store (called Shinsegae)
and everyone I know talked about my shoes first
here in Korea, just like anywhere else probably
women are sooo into fashion and style
they especially love the bold, edgy and fierce looks
and I think this wedge looked powerful to them as well

the appearance: I usually wear size 7 1/2 or 38 for boots because that's what I heard as I should do. go a one size bigger for boots because you get swollen feet
so when I was looking at the size chart at gojane,
the sizes were to my understanding a one size bigger than in my perspective (I usually think 37 is for 7 and 38 is for 8 and so on.. which is 250 mm for 8)
so that's where I decided to try a size 7
I knew that it'll be okay even if it's the normal size 7
(because I wear 7 for flats and 7 1/2 for heels, sneakers and etc.)
then I can just take a short trip walking.

so when I first opened up my box, I thought this looked way too small
just by the first appearance i mean..
but when I tried it on
it was just like a 38 version perfectly having a little space for me to breathe

*i didn't know but today i heard that
normally a wedge heels look smaller than the other type of shoes*

the rubber platform made me easy to walk in and to feel comfort even in above 10 cm height
it wasn't a heavy shoe
but it was strong enough to hold me tight when i was walking down a slightly bented hill, i didn't trip down or anything like that to embarrass myself

dior sunglasses, zara bag, forever21 skinny jeans, urban outfitters hooded sweater, american eagle long sleeve shirt, Jindo fur coyote fur vest, gifted swatch double strap watch in pastel pink, clue necklace, earrings i made myself, and bootie gifted from GoJane.com

another reason i usually go for a one size bigger for boots:
i have kind of a wide feet
not so wide but.. because of my bone structure where it's sticking out a bit?
i have a hard time walking in heels and in flats that has narrow width

this is how it appeared from the site
leopard print wedge bootie $34.99 -> now on sale $25.95

some other cute finds from GoJane,

furry tassel keychain $15.60

futuristic chain trim sunglasses $7.40
[looks like it can be worn as a necklace right?
i'm looking for a pair like this these days
because I'm so in love with that Louis Vuitton one]

love heart rhinestone ring $2.50
[such cute ring and look at THAT price!!!]

rhinestone jewel ring $19.50

sweater trim zipper leo bootie $35.70

You should definitely check out http://www.gojane.com/
for endless amazing finds at affordable price tags
